What Looks like a lava flow is only a hot steam flow stream from a geyser that looks like a lava flow:

This is one of the many water falls in the Yellowstone N.P. all are great But this is the most Famous since it was fotographed by Ansel Adams  and now probably the most fotographed since then, you still get about the same view Adams had when he took it:
